The spirituality of the Eucharistic Heart is not a new devotion to the Heart of Jesus, existing alongside Eucharistic adoration and devotion to the Sacred Heart.
In the words of the Holy Office, it is « the reunion of Eucharistic worship and devotion to the Sacred Heart ». It is a further step in the unique love for the Heart of Jesus, who expresses his greatest love – that of the Cross – in the Blessed Sacrament.
In all fairness, the figures, congregations and places dedicated to the Heart of Jesus, to Eucharistic adoration, and also to the Heart of Mary, the two being inseparable, should be listed here. There would be many.
The emphasis here is on lesser-known figures, congregations and places, more specifically dedicated to this last degree of intimacy with the Heart of Jesus, his Eucharistic Heart, whether in the life of the soul and the whole of existence (Sophie Prouvier, Bse Dina Bellanger, Mère Julienne du Rosaire), and to the Heart of Mary (Berthe Petit).
The spirituality of the Eucharistic Heart encourages incessant union with Christ, whose love never ceases (cf. « Dina Bellanger » page). Every soul is called to this, as is the whole Church. Claire Ferchaud’s idea of a Perpetual Mass is linked to this, and would be a visible image of it.
